Gordon Road (formerly known as the River Road), about five miles south of Reynolds, Georgia. The cemetery is enclosed by an iron fence, approximately 60 feet by 75 feet, with a brass plate inscribed “Bryan” on the gate. Another iron fence encloses three graves inside the main fence. The following graves were located there in April, 2001: 1. Robert Hall Carson - April 2, 1846 - March 25, 1865 Tenth and youngest child of Joseph Jefferson Carson and Martha Goodwin Raines. Served as courier to Generals Dole and Cook in Company I, 4th Georgia Regiment. Killed during Captain Joseph Perryman Carson's successful charge on Fort Stedman. 2. Clyde Bryan Carson – September 25, 1904 – April 30, 1959 son of Joseph Jefferson Carson and Lula Clyde Ricks 3. William J. (Joseph) Carson – 1898 – 1989 – Buried North Hebron, N. Y. (son of Joseph Jefferson Carson and Lula Clyde Ricks) (husband of married Julia Margaret Hicks Carson) 4. Ruth Wilson, wife of J. R. Carson – February 7, 1895 – May 14, 1927 5. James Ricks Carson – February 2, 1894 – December 30, 1973 6. James A., son of James Alston and Melissa Carson – died January 11, 1864, aged 4 years, 6 months, 21 days 7. James Alston Carson – September 10, 1832 – August 27, 1862 Fourth child of Joseph Jefferson Carson and Martha Goodwin Raines. Served as sergeant, Company C, Georgia 12th Regiment. Wounded, date and place unknown, died of Billious fever at Lynchburg, VA, August 27, 1862. Married Melissa Bryan. 8. Mother, Melissa Bryan, wife of James A. Carson May 11, 1838 – December 24, 1912 Daughter of Nathan Bryan and Mary Lofley. Married Janes Alston Carson January 29, 1856. 9. Lula Clyde Ricks, wife of J. J. Carson January 26, 1863 – October 27, 1912 Daughter of Isaac James Ricks and Sarah Montgomery. Married Joseph Jefferson Carson March 4, 1891. 10. Joseph J. Carson – April 21, 1858 – June 23, 1925 Second son of James Alston Carson and Melissa Bryan. Had same name as his grandfather. Married Lula Clyde Ricks. 11. Francis Marion Carson – January 4, 1892 – July 14, 1961 Eldest son of Joseph Jefferson Carson and Lula Clyde Ricks. 12. Annie May James, wife of Francis Marion Carson January 19, 1896 – May 28, 1989 Daughter of Thomas Jefferson James and Alice Cheatham. Married Francis Marion Carson on February 14, 1923. 13. Martha G. Carson – November 29, 1808 – June 2, 1862 Martha Goodwin Raines Carson -- Daughter of Thomas Raines and Sarah Abercrombie. Married Joseph Jefferson Carson on October 29, 1823. 14. Joseph Jefferson Carson – April 16, 1802 – April 21, 1875 Son of John Wesley Carson and Isabella McGough, married Martha Goodwin Raines. 15. John Thomas Carson – November 11, 1825 – Septmber 30, 1864 Eldest child of Joseph Jefferson Carson and Martha Goodwin Raines. Became Major of Company C, 12th Georgia Regiment (Davis Rifles), wounded three times at Winchester, VA, Sept. 19, 1864, died in a hospital at Lynchburg, VA, Sept 30, 1864. The grave of John Thomas Carson in the Carson Cemetery is marked by an obelisk, about eight feet tall. On one side of the obelisk, the artist carved a likeness of John Thomas Carson’s sword. That sword was made in Germany by W. Walscheid and imported by the Confederacy from the city of Solingen. 16. Susan Saphronia Howe Carson, wife of John Thomas Carson May 17, 1822 – September 15, 1898 Daughter of Robert Howe, Jr., and Susanna Gray, married John Thomas Carson on February 2, 1847. Died in Columbus, GA. 17. Charles Ferdinand Carson – October 27, 1902 – October 3, 1977 Fourth son of Joseph Jefferson Carson and Lula Clyde Ricks. Married Marie Elmer Jackson in New York City December 27, 1930. 18. Marie Elmer Jackson, wife of Charles Ferdinand Carson February 7, 1904 – October 14, 1984 Daughter of William Elmer Jackson and Kathryne Carolyn Pierce. Married Charles Ferdinand Carson. 19. Martha G., wife of H. T. Jordan and daughter of J. J. and M. G. Carson, died February 1, 1851 Fifth Child of Joseph Jefferson Carson and Martha Goodwin Raines. Became first wife of Henry Terrel Jordan, married April 16, 1851. After her death, Henry Terrel Jordan married her sister, Sarah Isabelle Carson. 20. Jimmie, son of H. T. and S. I. Jordan, died August 14, 1858, age 1 year, 6 months, 28 days Son of Henry Terrel Jordan and Sarah Isabelle Carson 21. Mattie, infant daughter of H. T. and S. I. Jordan, died October 2, 1858, aged 3 months, 22 days Daughter of Henry Terrel Jordan and Sarah Isabelle Carson 22. Ophelia G. Carson – April 9, 1865 – October 18, 1886 Daughter of Joseph Perryman Carson and Charlotte Keith Briggs. 23. Baby – January 15, 1863 24. Rains Carson – July 22, 1867 – October 16, 1881 Son of Joseph Perryman Carson and Charlotte Keith Briggs 25. Homes Carson – September 17, 1872 – August 7, 1873 Son of Joseph Perryman Carson and Charlotte Keith Briggs 26. Anne Elizabeth Bryan – January 30, 1841 – June 6, 1902 Eighth child of Joseph Jefferson Carson and Martha Goodwin Raines, wife of Francis Marion Bryan 27. Francis Marion Bryan – May 11, 1833 – August 1, 1897 son of Nathan Bryan and Mary Lofley. Nathan Bryan lived across the Flint River near Marshallville. 28. Joseph P. Carson – June 1, 1839 – March 25, 1889 son of Joseph Jefferson Carson and Martha Goodwin Raines. Joseph Perryman Carson was captain of Company I, 4th Regiment, Georgia Infantry. Serving under General Gordon on the night of March 24-25, 1865, he commanded a hundred sharpshooters who captured Fort Stedman in Lee's attempt to break through the Union lines. (Wife Charlotte Keith Briggs Carson not buried her.Move to Tifton, Georgia, where she died at her home November 10, 1913.) 29. Mrs. O. H. Briggs – December 29, 1813 – August 4, 1877. Possibly mother of Charlotte Keith Briggs, who married Joseph Perryman Carson. Not confirmed.
