Taylor had as dinner guests last week Mrs. H.W. Taylor, Mrs. M.E. Wadley and Mrs. H.A. Newsome, of Reynolds. Corn clubs, canning clubs, cotton breeders’ clubs, earnest effort combined with intellectual study are going to make the farms of Macon County yield a rich harvest every year. There can be no doubt but that we have the soil and the climate, some of the farmers, and are going to get more. Many friends of M.A. Edwards, of Perry, a former resident of this place, deeply sympathize with him in the loss of his eldest son, Forrest, whose sudden death occurred recently near Dade City, Florida. The Royal Ambassadors recently organized have the following officers: Prof. C. Scruggs, counselor, Lamar Ware, Royal Ambassador, Philip Frederick, Second Ambassador, Jas. Dunlap, Treasurer and Bailey Ware, Secretary. An exciting evening was recently enjoyed in a ‘possum hunt, to which the men, women and children who participated in it, went in three large autos packed full. The rendezvous was six miles out of town. After leaving the cars, and following the trail through the woods, over fences, into ditches, through briar patches, three possums were treed and captured.
