State News Items

Miss Kate F. Edwards, of Marshalville, has been selected by the committee 
appointed to choose the painters of the ex-speakers of the lower house of 
Congress. Miss Edwards has now an art studio in Chicago.  She will paint the 
portrait of Ex-Speaker Barbour, of Virginia.  The sample paintings of Miss 
Edwards’ submitted to the committee received very high praise.  Two other 
Georgian artists were also selected for portraits, Mr. Hal Morrison and Miss 
Stanton of Athens.
