Bryan. This sad occasion took place on the 7th day of February, 1896, at the home of the deceased near the town of Marshallville, Macon Co., Ga.Brother Bryan was the oldest male member of our church, and we deplore his departure as one of "the fathers in Israel." As a citizen he had many fine traits of character; as a Christian he was loyal to every interest of the church. He was baptized about the year 1846; was made deacon soon afterwards, which office he held at the time of his death. He is gone from among us, and tho we shall not see his face any more in this life, we shall meet him again in our heavenly Father's home where there are no more separations. Resolved 1. That in the death of Brother Bryan the church has suffered a loss that cannot easily be repaired. 2. That in his sudden taking away we recognize the hand of an overruling providence, and bow in humble submission to the mandate of him that doeth all things after the council of his own will. 3. That a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the church record, a copy be presented to the family, and that a copy be printed by the Christian Index. L. O. Niles Z. T. Weaver H. M.
