GRIZZARD To the Officers and Brethren of Lebanon Lodge No. 484 A.F. and A.M. Your committee having in charge the duty of preparing resolutions commemorative of our worthy brother, Simeon S. Grizzard, deceased, respectfully submit that: Bro. Simeon S. Grizzard was born in Macon County, Georgia March 4, 1844; was married to Miss Florence Speir of Pike County, Georgia March 12, 1867 and moved to Cleburne County, Alabama in January 1883. He joined the Missionary Baptist church at Concord, Cleburne County in August 1884 and was a consistent member til is death. He joined the Masonic fraternity at Edwardsville, Ala about 1884 and he ever lived a consistent Mason. He was always present at the lodge meetings when not physically disabled, and he loved Masonry and its great precepts and lived up to and obeyed them. On September 13, 1916 at the age of 72 years, 6 months and 6 days, our esteemed brother was called from labor to rest, leaving a wife, two sons and one daughter and a number of relatives and friends to mourn his loss. Your committee recommends the following resolutions: Resolved, that a page in our minute book be set apart, upon which shall be inscribed these words: " Simeon S. Grizzard, born Mar. 4, 1844 - - departed this life, Sept. 13, 1916." Resolved that a copy of tis report be furnished the widow of our deceased brother. Resolved that we wear the usual badge of mourning for thirty days adn that our Lodge Jewels be draped as usual.
