Jaunary 11, 1924 MRS. S. H. {Amanda Shealy) KITCHENS PASSES AWAY Thursday afternoon a gloom was cast over the entire community when the news was received of the death of Mrs. S. H. Kitchens. She was reared and had always lived in Macon County, and had numbers of friends throughout the whole county who loved her and will always miss her. Her gentle personality ever radiated her sweet Christian character. Though for several years ill health had kept her from attending church regularly, she was known as a sweet Christian woman and lived as such. At the time of her death, she was visiting her daughter, Mrs. R. C. Jackson at Waynesboro, Ga. Death was due to paralises. Besides her daughter she is survived by her husband, S. H. Kitchens and two sons, Whigham Kitchens and Ernest Kitchens of near Oglethorpe, two sisters, Mrs. ___ of Fla. and Mrs. Ann Huffman of Oglethorpe, one brother, Mr. Joe Shealy, also of Oglethorpe and three small grandchildren to mourn her death. At time of death, the subject of this sketch was fifty-nine years of age. The funeral was conducted by her Pastor, Rev. Phillips after which she was laid to rest in the Shealy Cemetery.
