The deceased was a Printer by profession, and had been for two weeks preceding his illness, engaged in this office. Of Mr. Mounger we have no personal knowledge since a lad, in Milledgeville, Ga., where he was a noviciate in the printing profession. He was, we can assert of our own knowledge, allied by blood to some of the most respectable families in the State of George, and also in Alabama. He had but recently come from Texas, in whose cause he had been fighting against their invaders, and brought with him testimonials which shew him to have been a brave and honorable man. It will be a source of consolation to his friends to be assured that though his last days were spent among strangers, every comfort and attention were administered that his situation demanded.
