J.T. O’Shields, superintendent of roads in Macon County and warden of the county convicts, died at Oglethorpe last Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock after quite a protracted illness lasting for several weeks. Mr. O’Shields had endeared himself, not only to the people of Macon County, but also of Taylor County. He is survived by several sons, some of whom are with their country in the battle fields of France. Also three daughters. Taylor County extends sympathy to the bereaved family and to Macon County in this, their sad loss.
