Macon County Citizen

Mr. G.W. Payne passed into the Great Beyond Wednesday afternoon at 12:16 
o’clock, after only a few days’ illness being stricken on Sunday night with a 
fatal malady from which he never regained consciousness.  Mr. Payne was about 
54 years of age; was born and reared in Macon County, and for the past seven 
years has been a resident of Oglethorpe.
