MURRAY Oglethorpe and the entire community was greatly saddened on last Thursday evening when it became known that Mr. J. C. Murray had passed away at the Wise Sanatorium of Plains about nine o'clock. He had only been ill for about two weeks though his health had been somewhat impaired for a good while back. He was removed from his home in Plains only a week before the end and everything was done which could be, but when the Master called, he was ready to go. All of his family were with him when the end came. He was a charter member of the Kiwanis Club and also took a great interest in every movement for any advancement about the community. He was a friend to all the boys and girls and they have indeed lost a good friend. He was a splendid citizen in every respect asnd although he had never connected himself with any church, was a true Christian character. The funeral services were held on Saturday morning at ten o'clock, Mr. J. J. Sanders conducting them and interment was in the family lot in the Oglethorpe cemetery. Mr. Murray leaves his wife and one daughter, Christine; two brothers: David Murray of near Oglethorpe and Cap Murray of Birmingham; three sisters, Mrs. Lois Shealy of Macon, Mrs. Wadsworth and Mrs. Terrell Perry of near Oglethorpe; and other relatives and numerous friends to mourn his loss. {Note: J. June 4, 1915 IN MEMORIAM - After an illness of two weeks, on Thursday morning, May 27th, at 10:15, God in his wisdom sent His angel to bear the sweet spirit of little Martha Emily, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Murray [age 15 months, 11 days] to abide with Him. All that loving hands could do and sympathetic hearts could suggest was administered with no avail. Oh! how we miss that bright little face, the loving caresses, no footsteps to be heard, all is so still. There's a missing link that can never be filled. God seeks to pluck the choicest flowers, and time will only reveal the mysterious workings of His plans. All who knew little Martha loved her, and it is so hard to give her up, but we know our loss is heaven's gain, just one more little angel added to His band. We can humbly say, "Thy will be done."
