Christopher, of the Montezuma Record, and Miss Cora L. Smith, one of the most charming ladies of that section, were married at the Methodist church in that town Thursday, October 17th at 5:30 o’clock p.m. The ceremony was performed in an impressive manner by Rev. J.W. Domingos, pastor of the church. The altar of the church was beautifully decorated with flowers and evergreens, and immediately in front of the altar was an arch, suspended from which was a floral design as two hearts, one overlapping the other, both of which were pierced by Cupid’s arrow, under which the couple stood. Under the inspiring strains of Mendelson’s wedding march performed by Mrs. E.C. McEvoy, the attendants marched in the following order, the gentlemen taking the left aisle and the ladies the right, and crossing in front of the altar: Miss Eula Crapps with C.P. Rouse Miss Estelle Smith with C.M. Harrison Miss Lena Lewis with Willie H. McKenzie Miss Genie Hamilton with W.L. McKenzie Miss Anna Christopher with Wm. Byrom Miss Willie Holt with Eugene Willis Miss Annie Smith with S.H. Christopher After the last couple came the bride and groom. The bride was attired in a beautiful white surah silk wedding gown, en train, with beaded lace front and flowers and pearl colored gloves. The groom was dressed in a handsome black “cutaway” suit with white gloves and tie. The young lady attendants were dressed in white with the same color gloves as the bride and the young gentlemen were attired in black “cutaway” suits, with white ties and gloves. After the ceremony was performed the bride and groom, the attendants and a few invited friends repaired to the home of Mr. O.C. Cheves, where the groom boarded, and enjoyed an excellent supper such as Mrs. Cheves knows how to get up. In the center of the table was a pyramid of fruits and flowers and the board was ladened with good things to eat. There were many bridal presents, among which were some handsome and costly ones. The bride and groom left on the 9 o’clock train for Florida where they spent a week at Jacksonville, the famous Ponce de Leon hotel at St. Augustine and other points. We wish them much happiness in their wedded life.
