Douglass, of said State and County, being of advanced age but of sound mind, knowing that I must shortly depart this life deem it right and proper that I should make a disposition of the property with which a kind Providence has blessed me - I do therefore make this my last will and testament. First - I hereby appoint my son, William W. Douglass Executor of this my last will and testament. Secondly - I desire that my body be buried in a manner suitable to my circumstances in life. Thirdly - I desire that my debts be paid without delay by my executor. Fourthly - I desire that all my property, real and personal, remain as it is at my death for ten years thereafter. During that time, my son and executor, William W. Douglass, and my daughters that are not married to remain and live on the place without paying board as they have been living heretofore, and my son William W. Douglass to receive One hundred dollars for his services on the farm. And after paying all my debts, my executor should think it best for the comfort and happiness of the family to build a neat comfortable house on the premises for the use of the family he may use the surplus proceeds of the farm in that way. And at the end of each year any money on hand belonging to the estate that the executor should decide was not necessary to be used for the estate shall be equally divided among all the heirs, to wit: Laura E. Douglass, John J. Douglass, Theresa A. Douglass, Mary Douglass, Annie D. Douglass and William W. Douglass. Fifthly - At the expiration of the ten years immediately after my death, my executor above named will proceed to sell my entire property, real and personal, on the premises after advertising the same in the paper where the County advertising is done. Sixthly - For and in consideration of the past services of my son, William W. Douglass, to the family I give and bequeath to him Two hundered dollars in addition to what each of the other legatees may receive and he is also to receive the usual commission the law allows administrators. Seventhly - After the above legacy, commission and salary is paid, the remaining proceeds of the sale, of my property is to be equally divided among all my children or their legal heirs, if any, of them should be dead. Douglass as her last will and testament in the presence of us, the undersigned who subscribe our names hereunto in the presence of said testator, at her special instance and request and in the presence of each other - This October 5th 1891. McMurrain Bryan). William M. and Annie Douglass Bryan were the parents of Rena Rosebud Bryan the wife of John Franklin Taunton. Laura F. Douglass died 16 Jul 1893.
