Her middle name was Josephine, not Joanna as stated in the bible. Josie was the daughter of Thomas "Tom/Tommie" Perry Hix and Sarah Elizabeth Thomas. Their first child, Eugenia "Jeannie" Elizabeth Culbertson, married John Lumpkin Black March 7, 1886 in Madison County, GA. Jeannie was born in Banks County, GA and died September 29, 1949 in Royston, Franklin, GA. She is buried Ila City Cemetery; Ila, GA. She married secondly James "Jim" Thomas Cook. Their second child, Madison Thomas "Tom" Culbertson, married Lettie Jane Fitzpatrick January 8, 1891 Madison County, GA. Tom was born Banks County, GA and died January 9, 1937 in Madison County, GA. He is buried Ila City Cemetery; Ila, GA. Their third child, Melita "Lita" Clementine Culbertson, married Solomon "Sol" B. Bray December 15, 1889 Madison County, GA. Lita was born Madison County, Ga and died November 28, 1961 Madison County, GA. She is buried Providence Baptist; Madison County, GA.
