These two gentlemen married sisters, Mary “Polly” Perry and Joanna Perry. This cemetery includes Hix descendants from both these lines. The new Hix Cemetery (or Hix-Williams Cemetery) located on Highway 98 is a continuation of this cemetery. Descendants of this family are found to this day in Madison County. Directions: From Ila, drive Hwy. 98 towards Commerce. Between Ila and Commerce, you will turn left on the Neese- Commerce Road. In about half a mile, you will reach a 583 Neese-Commerce Road on the left with chicken houses in the back. The house has a tin garage and a driveway with two entrances. The cemetery is on private property, so visitors can alert the homeowner you are traveling on his property. Go through the fence and follow the road between the chicken houses. The cemetery will be past the chicken houses on the right. Location map for Hix, Georgia from MapQuest. The cemetery is maintained by several Hix descendants who live in Madison County. We thank them for their time and efforts.
