Orphans of William Thompson
Guardianship Bond - 1844

Georgia
Madison County
Court of Ordinary, 6 May 1844

Know all men by these presents that we, Alfred McDuff, Robert W. 
Berryman and Charles T. Berryman are held and firmly bound unto the 
honorable the Inferior Court sitting as a Court of ordinary for said 
County and their successors in office in the just and full sum of 
Three Thousand dollars for the payment of which sum to the said 
justices as aforsaid and their successors in office we bind ourselves, 
our heirs, executors, and administrators jointly and severally firmly 
by these presents.  Sealed with our seals and dated this sixth day of 
May One Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty Four.

The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the said 
Alfred McDuff is this day appointed Guardian to Melissa M. Thompson, 
Nancy Thompson, Eliza A. Thompson, Elizabeth C. Thompson and Syntha 
M. Thompson, orphans of William Thompson deceased.  Now if the said 
Alfred McDuff do well and truly demean himself as Guardian aforsaid 
agreeably to letters of Guardianship bearing even date herewith and 
agreeably to law in such case made and provided the above obligation 
to be void, otherwise to remain in full for and virtue.
