$2500   One day after date I promise to pay Power + Williford
or bearer the sum of twenty five dollars for value received with interest
at the rate of 8 per cent per annum from Nov. 1st 1892 until paid and
if collected by law, or through an attorney I agree to pay 10 per cent
additional for attorneys fees.  And I hereby expressly waive and renounce
all benefits of homestead of realty and exemptions of personally to the fullest
extent authorized by the constitution and laws of the State of
Georgia as against the enforcement of this note
And for the purpose of securing the payment of said sum of
twenty five dollars of said sum of twenty five dollars and
all interest that may accrue there the all the rate of 8 per
cent hereby create a lien on and herby mortgage to the said
Power + Williford and their assigns, the following property to wit:
My entire crop of cotton + cotton seed of about eight acres
my entire crop of corn + fodder of about 14 acres – cotton planted
on my own land and corn planted on my own land and
John Adams land in Madison Co Ga.
I hereby certifiy that the title to the foregoing property is in me, and
that the same is unencumbered by any lien and judgment and
that I so informed said Power + Williford before obtaining credit
and that credit was obtained upon said representation
Witness my hand and seal this 21st day of May 1892.
