$100.00     Oct 1st after date I promise to pay Power + Williford
or bearer the sum of one hundred dollars for value received
with interest at the rate of 8 per cent per annum from matu
rity until paid and if collected by law or through an attorney
I agree to pay ten per cent additional for attorneys fees and I
hereby expressly waive and renounce all benefits of homestead
of realty and exemption of personalty to the fullest extent authorized by
the constitution and laws of the State of Georgia as against
the enforcement of this note
And for the purpose of securing the payment of said sum
of one hundred dollars and all interest that may accrue
thereon at the said rate of 8 per cent per annum I hereby
create a lien on and hereby mortgage to the said Power +
Williford and their assigns the following property to wit
The entire crop of cotton + seed about 20 acres also entire
crop of corn of about 18 or 20 acres also one medium
size black horse about 10 years old all in the county
of Madison State of Georgia
We hereby certify that the title to the foregoing property is in
us and that the same is unincumbered by any lien or
judgment and that we so informed said Power + Williford
before obtaining credit and that credit was obtained upon
said representation
