B. SCARBOROUGH To WILLIAM R. HILL and JOHN M. HILL Trustees (for John M. (W) Canada) State of Georgia, Madison County This Indenture made this the Sixth day of December in the year Eighteen Hundred and Eighty Seven between J. B. SCARBOROUGH Sheriff of said County of the first part and WILLIAM R. HILL and JOHN M. HILL Trustees for the use and benefit of JOHN M. CANADA and his children of Fulton County of the second part Witnesseth that whereas the said F. B. SCARBOROUGH sheriff as aforesaid did on the thirty first day of Oct 1887 levy upon and afterwards expose to sale a certain tract of land hereinafter more fully described before the court house door in said County between the legal hours of sale and after advertising the same according to law in the Weekly Monitor a paper published at Danielsville GA for the space of thirty days thereafter did sell the said lot on the Sixth day of this present month said land being levied on sold as the land of LOUIS F. MILLICAN and RICHARD F. TOLBERT under and by virtue of an execution issued from the Superior Court of said County of Madison in favor of WILLIAM W. SCOTT and JNO. J. STRICKLAND against said LOUIS F. MILLICAN and R. F. TOLBERT and the said WILLIAM R. HILL & JOHN M HILL Trustees as aforesaid having been the highest bidder for the same and it being knocked off to him as the purchaser at the sum hereinafter named. Now the said F. B. SCARBOROUGH Sheriff, aforesaid in consideration of the premises and of the sum of Five Hundred and ninety one $591.00 Dollars to him in hand paid at and before the signing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged has granted bargained sold aliened and conveyed and by these presents does grant bargain sell alien and convey unto the said WILLIAM R. HILL & JOHN M. HILL Trustees for the use and benefit and JOHN W. CANADA and his children heirs and assigns the aforesaid tract of land lying in 383rd Dist Georgia Militia and in the said county and state and known in the community as the ALFRED SEGRAVES place lying on the Harmony Grove and Athens road adjoining lands of J. STRICKLAND, BULLOCK W. J. PITTMAN and others being the remainder of the land on which ALFRED SEGRAVES resided at the time of his death except a part cut off for dower and enclosed by lines as follows to wit: Begins at Black Gum and runs due North 2800 ch to sweet gum thence due west 10 ch to Hickory thence due North 550 ch to Red Oak thence N 80 E 1550 ch to stake thence N 20 W ch Red Oak thence N 70 E2300 ch to Stake thence S 20 E 2300 ch to Rock thence S 80 W 2300 ch to the beginning corner and contains one hundred and a half acres more or less. To have and to hold the said described tract of land to the said WILLIAM R. HILL and JOHN M. HILL as Trustees as aforesaid and their successors in office in as full and ample a manner as the said LEWIS F. MILLICAN and RICHARD F. TOLBERT might have done.
