Fork Broad River Written: 1897-1900 Madison County Georgia Superior Court Deeds-Mortgages Water Grist Mill South Fork Broad River 1818, May 25--- This Indenture made and entered into between Hugh Pettus of Lanier County, Virginia unto William P. Arnold of Madison County Georgia, for and in consideration of the sum of $275 dollars current money, sold and conveyed 2 tracts of land; 1 tract said Pettus purchased of Alexander Moon of Madison County containing 151 ½ acres lying on the South Fork Broad River together with a water grist mill. And the other tract which said Pettus purchased of Dearburg Gholston of said county containing 226 acres . Witness: s/ Hugh M.
