Danielsville Monitor 1925
   One of the most delightful and happy reunions in the history of Madison 
County was the reunion Friday at the hospitable home of Mr. and Mrs. W.W. 
Barnett, of their children and grandchildren, with about fifty invited 
guests.  This was the eighth reunion of this family, but the first one where 
all were present.  The came from a half dozen states and many a long 
distance.  Mr. W. W. Barnett belongs to one of the old pioneer families of 
this county, and is an honored and leading citizen.  He is _2 years of age, 
and his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Barnett, was a Clement, another fine old Georgia 
family.  There were 24 immediate members of the family present and all the 
sons and daughters except two were married.  It was certainly a happ 
gathering. 

    A fine dinner was served with a barbecue and other delicious ______.  The 
fruit cake was baked in December. A purse containing $50 was presented by the 
children to the father and mother. 

    The members of the family were:  Mr. and Mrs. E.G. Barnett and son, 
Knoxville, Tenn; Mr. and Mrs. A.F. Barnett, Huntington, W. Va.; Mr. and Mrs. 
J.O. Hix and family Athens, Mr. and Mrs. P. Keese and daughters, Charleston, 
S.C.; Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Porterfield and family, Colbert; Mr. and Mrs. J. C. 
Barnett and family, Colbert; Hope Dale Barnett, Huntington, W. Va.; Mr. and 
Mrs. J.O. Linker, Concord, N.C.; Mr. and Mrs. J.V. Barnett and family, 
Florence, S.C.; Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Barnett, Colbert and B.L. Barnett, Colbert.
