Danielsville Monitor October 31, 1930
   Sunday, Oct. 26, the relatives and near friends of Mrs. J. M. Bond gathered 
to celebrate her Eighty-third birthday.  Mrs. Bond was Miss Cynthia McEwen 
before her marriage fifty-seven years ago.  She had six children, three of 
whom are living:  T. A. Bond, Mrs. U. S. Woody and Mrs. C. E. Crowe.  She has 
twenty-five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
   Many loving wishes were extended her in the arriving guests who were 
cordially received and their greetings heartily returned by Mrs. Bond.  As old 
fashioned spread dinner was arragned in the yard.  Rev. Roy J. Bond, Supt. of 
Watkinsville High School asked blessing after which all partook of the dinner 
which bore to evidence of hard times.
   Those present were:  T. A. Bond and family, S. J. McEwen and family, T. A. 
Long and family, H. L. Echols and family, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Threlkeld of 
Atlanta; W. E. Crowe and family, C. E. Crowe and family; W. L. Dean and 
family; W. C. Booth and family; Bud Rice and family, of Ila; Sam Teat and 
Walter Wynn.
   In the afternoon several parties called to spread their well wishes to Mrs. 
Bond, among these were S. W. Fitts, L. C. Branyon and family, D. E. Hill, J. 
H. Long, Willie Long and Mrs. E. D. Fitts.
   Mrs. Bond was delighted to have with her her sister, Mrs. M. M. Bond of 
Danielsville.
   We hope that Mrs. bond may be permitted to have many more happy 
birthdays and that they may be as happy as this one.
