COLLIER -- Photo by Arnett Colbert, Ga. ---Miles W. Collier, who will be sent to the legistlature by Madison county again for two years, having been nominated without opposition in the recent Democratic primary, is a farmer who regards agriculture pretty much as the best business men regard their affairs. Mr. Collier has made a success of farming has three children is High school and college and finds time to interest himself in the civic, religious and educational affairs of this community. Mr. Collier was elected to the legislature two years ago, defeating Senator- elect J. O. M. Smith. In the legislature he served on the powerful Ways and Means committee and was a factor in passage of the fertillizer bill which requires the printing of the formula on the outside of the pack. Mr. Collier believers that if there is a secret to his success as a farmer it lies in the fact that he raises feed for his livestock and food for his family on his own farms located in Madison, Oglethorpe and Oconee counties. By doing that he is enabled to actually " Live at home." While he is intensely interested in farming, he is more than less interested in the educational programs of the community and county. He served for some time as member of the Board of Education of Colbert and was its president . He was president of Colbert Bank during its existence for several years. Mr. Collier married Miss Ouida Colbert of Madison County. They have three children, Miles Arnold, a senior at the University of Georgia; Ralph C. Collier, student at G. M. C., Milledgeville and Miss Ouida Collier, student of Colbert High school. Mr. Collier is an alumnus of Mercer and the University of Georgia. He was graduated from Universtiy of Georgia in 1901. He is a native of Oglethorpe county and a deacon in the Colbert Baptist Church.
