Danielsville Monitor January 4, 1946

   Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Barrett, Sr. of Pocataligo, Georgia, celebrated their 
50th Wedding Anniversary December 29 by having open house from 2 til 6.
   Mr. Barrett was born in Madison County December 28, 1870 where he lived 
until he was nine years old.
   In 1879 his father bought what is known as the old Barrett Mill place and 
he was living there at the time of his marriage to Miss Evelina Sorrells, a 
resident of Ila, Georgia in Madison County.  the couple lived near Athens 
until the fall of 1897 when they moved to Pocataligo, Georgia where they are 
living at the present time.
   Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Barrett, Sr. have eight children and nine 
grandchildren.  The children are: Miss Lerlin Barrett of Haines City, Florida; 
Mrs. J. M. Rogers of Marianna, Florida; Miss Inez Barrett and Mrs. T. A. 
Freeman of Danielsville, Georgia; Mr. E. B. Barrett, Jr. of Savannah, Georgia; 
Mrs. Philly Lowry of Rocky Face, Georgia; Mrs. Mitchell Barrett of Atlanta, 
Georgia and Mr. Billie Hugh Barrett of Toccoa, Georgia.
