Danielsville Monitor June 21, 1946

KATHERINE SEAGRAVES BRIDE ELECT HONORED AT PARTY

   Hull, Ga:  A surprise miscellaneous shower was given in honor of Miss 
Kathryn Seagraves at the home of Mrs. J. M. Rutherford, June 12th.
   The home was beautifully decorated with a lovely arrangement of yellow 
dahlias and orange gladioli.
   Miss Seagraves was presented with a corsage of gardenias by the hostess as 
she entered the room.
    Many interesting contests and cross-word puzzles were enjoyed by the 
guests; prizes were enjoyed by the guests; prizes were awarded the winners.  
Those receiving prizes were:  Mrs. Katie Massey, Mrs. Chandler Foushe and Miss 
Seagraves.  The bride-elect won a rolling pin which wound through the house 
and led to a large basket filled with lovely gifts presented to her by the 
following guests:  Mesdames: Sara Perry, G. L. Barber, Rosena Morehead, Blache 
Gordon, Nannie Ree Martin, Howard Barnette, W. O. Dillard, A. L. Stone, J.G. 
Barnette, J. M. Rutherford, Alice Rider, Quilla Massey, Carl Hill, Hoyt 
Nelms, e. e. Dillard, T. L. Dillard, Chandler Fouche, J. I. Chandler, G. L. 
Sailors, J. V. Jenkins, Sr., J. V. Jenkins, Jr., R. L. Kesler, A. F. 
Seagraves. L. C. Seagraves, R. J. Seagraves, Edgar Wilkes and Misses Hilda 
Barnette, Mary Ellen Wilkes and Mira Dillard.
   The table was artistically decorated with a hand crocheted cloth, made by 
the co-hostess, Mrs. J. G. Barnette, and a three-tier wedding cake which was 
surrounded by gardenias, ice cream and cake was served by the hostesses, Mrs. 
J. M. Rutherford and Mrs. J. G. Barnette.
