Crisler of this city battled with a shark for the possession of the salmon. Crisler won the fight with the cetaean and landed the salmon, a 12 pounder, but not until the shark had endangered Crisler's life and that of his wife who was in the boat with him. According to the story told by Crisler, he had just hooked the salmon and was fighting with the flashing beauty, when the shark appeared lunging so wickedly that the boat was in danger of being swamped. The shark disappeared when Crisler succeeded in bringing in the salmon. Besides the 12 pounder, Mr. and Mrs. Crisler returned to Angeles with two other specimens, one a nine pounder and one weighing five pound and a half. The Crisler's reside on Third and Cherry streets Port Angeles, Washington Mr. Crisler is an old Madison county boy. He is a grandson of Mr. J.H. Bruce of near here, and has many friends who will be interested in the above clipping.
