Danielsville Monitor January 12, 1945
   Of cordial interest is the announcement made today by Mr. and Mrs. 
R. Howard Gordon, of the engagement of their daughter, Miss Christine 
Gordon, to William Franklin Burroughs, U. S. N. R. of Augusta and 
Danielsville.  The date of the marriage will be announced later.
   The bride elect;s mother is the former M'es Estelle Boggs of 
Gainesville, daughter of the late J. N. Boggs and Alice Boggs Little.  
Her paternal grandparents are Mrs. John E. Gordon and the late 
Mr. Gordon of Danielsville.
   After graduating from Danielsville High School, the bride elect 
attended LaGrange College and the University of Georgia where 
she received her degree.  She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi 
sorority and Phi Kappa Phi.
   Mr. Burroughs is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. William Ellis 
Burroughs of Danielsville and is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. 
anthony and the late Mr. and Mrs. I. B. Burroughs of Danielsville. 
His mother, before her marriage was Miss Clyde Anthony.  His 
only brother is S. Sgt. anthony Burroughs.
   The bridegroom elect is a graduate of Danielsville High School 
and the University of Georgia.  He is now a member of theh senior 
class at the University of Georgia School of Medicine in Augusta. 
He is a member of Phi Rho Sigma medical fraternity.
