J. Whitehead of Comer, in Lavonia at the home of S. E. Vandiver, Sr. , in honor of Mrs. S. E. Vandiver, Jr. whose marriage was a brilliant social hit of the fall in Winder. Mrs. Vandiver is the former Miss Betty _____ell. The home was beautifully decorated for the occasion. The living room mantle, with a formal appointment of pink roses forming a lovely back drop for the receiving line composed __ Mrs. H. J. Whitehead, Mrs. S. E. Vandiver, Jr., and Mrs. Robert L. _____ell of Winder. The tea table overlaid with a handmade lace cloth was centered with attractive arrangement of pink roses and valley lilies, silver candelabra held white burning tapers, and an antique silver service on either of end of the table completed the appointments. The guests were ushered into the dining room where individual em___ed cakes, decorated mints, nuts and coffee and tea were served. Assisting in entertaining were Misses Eleanor Bowers, Ruth Os____, Jessie Thomas, Mesdames Joe Ferguson, Alton Haley, O. D. Can___, Jr., Rucker Rogers, George Hul___, Dan Cheek, Morgan Williams, Jr., ______ Campbell, Dennis Gant, B. _. Cheek, W. T. Link, and J. H. Bur_____. Miss Betty Whitehead and Mrs. H. _. Crittenden presented a delightful vocal program throughout the afternoon. About two hundred attended to ____ the honor guest.
