Danielsville Monitor August 23, 1946

  Miss Margaret Conger of Penfield, Georgia was honored at a miscellaneous 
shower on Saturday afternoon August 17, at the home of Mrs. Alvin Baker with 
misses Elsie Payne and Virginia Langford acting as co-hostesses. 
Lovely arrangements of lilies, marigolds and other mixed garden flowers were 
used in artistic profusion throughout the house.
   Several unique contest were held and the prizes consisting of a lovely tea 
apron, a pitcher and a coosie <cookie> jar were presented to the honorees.
   Immediately after the contests, little Annie Baker presented the bride 
elect with a white cord to wind up.  At the end of the cord was a green and 
white chest filled with lovely gifts.
   After admiring the gifts, delicious ice cream and cake were served carrying 
out the color scheme of green and white.  The bride was dressed in a pink 
printed silk dress with a lovely corsage of pink rosebuds showered 
with tuberoses.
   Miss Conger, a former home demonstration agent of this county will be 
married to Mr. Robert Wise of Abbeville, S. C. the middle of September.
