News From Danielsville

It is with feeling of most profound sorrow that we chronicle the 
death of Hon. I. J. Meadow, which occured at his home at Comer Monday
afternoon.  Mr. Meadow was a noble veteran of the "Lost Cause", having
entered the Confederate army as a private and coming out as a 
lieutenant.  He was a man of strong character--a natural leader--and 
had been county treasurer, member of the legislature, duputy collector
of internal revenue, and had held many other positions of trust and
honor, in all of which he showed an unswerving fidelity to duty and a
sturdy integrity which proved him to be that noblest work of God--an
honest man.
