Black - mmblack@valdosta.edu 30 August 2001 ***************************************************************** The Athens Banner-Herald, Monday, February 13, 1967, page 2 Mrs. Burroughs DANIELSVILLE- Funeral services were to be today at 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church for Mrs. Lettie Annice Burroughs, 61, who died Saturday in an Athens hospital. Rev. Dayton Logan was to officiate; burial was to be in Ila Cemetery. Survivors include one step-son, Joe Burroughs, Danielsville; five brothers, Wash Hick and Juck Hicks, Comer. John Hicks, Danielsville, Jeff Hicks, Greenwood, S.C., and Jewett Hicks, Crawford; and three sisters, Mrs. Ras Haggard, Danielsville, Mrs. Lurlain Black, Royston, and Mrs. Bernice Seagraves, Commerce. She was the daughter of the late Davis and Sarah Black Hicks. Pruitte Funeral Home of Royston was in charge of arrangements. ---------------------------- Notes on Lettie Annice Hix. Annice was born Feb. 12, 1905 in Madison County and died Feb. 11, 1967 in Athens, GA. She married first, Emory Goss Brooks Jan. 12, 1924. She married second Joe Curtis Burroughs June 6, 1964.
