A native of Banks County, Mr. Reed was a son of the late Ed and Cora Veal Reed. He was a cattle and poultry farmer, an Army veteran of the Korean War, an honorary member of Danielsville VFW Post 8377 and was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home chapel, Danielsville, the Rev. Albert Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in the Danielsville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Sonny Belk, Hoppy Royston, Banister Sexton, Nelson Stovell, Aubrey Thomason and Will Lindsey. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Sweetser Reed; two sons, Danny and Eddy Reed, both of Danielsville; a daughter, Vickie Kilpatrick, Danielsville; six sisters, Janie Sue Hewell and Shirley Morris, both of Gillsville, Mary Cromer, Commerce, Gladys Fitzgerald, Tempe, Ariz., Joyce Dale, Atlanta, and Maxine Clark, Buffalo, Ind.; three grandchildren, Melanie and Kevin Reed and Matthew Kilpatrick. The family is at the residence and will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
