Patten Hartwell Richard C. Patten, 60, of 215 Janice Drive died Saturday, Oct. 26, 1996. A native of Madison County, he was a son of the late Ben and Roxie Payne Patten. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Patten and " Pink" Patten, and two sisters, Aldeen Childs and Catherine Adams. He was employed with Monroe Auto Equipment Co. in maintenance and was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Durden officiating. Burial will be in Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Doris Crider Patten; two sons, Alex D. Patten and C. Brandon Patten, both of Hartwell; two brothers, Talmadge Patten, Hartwell, and Carroll Patten, Kissimmee, Fla.; and four sisters, Jewel Adams, Pickens, S.C., Patsy Bailey, Hartwell, Virginia Brooks, Loganville, and Wilda Murphy, Kissimmee. The family is at the residence. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
