Fortson Sr. Elberton John Neal Fortson Sr., 62, of Sweet City Road died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997. A native of Elbert County, Mr. Fortson was a son of the late Rosa May and Dock Hill Sr. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. James Clinkscales officiating. Burial will be in Moon Cemetery, Madison County. Survivors include four sons, Larry Eberhart, Elberton, and John Fortson Jr., Phillip N. Fortson and Rembert C. Fortner, all of Comer; a daughter, Debra D. Pastor, Mississippi; three brothers, Leroy Fortson, George M. Fortson and Jessie A. Fortson, all of Elberton; three sisters, Elizabeth Fortson, Hartwell, Rosalene Rucker, Bridgeport, Conn., and Celesta Boykins, Athens; and six grandchildren. McKinney-Neal Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
