Freeman Jr. Colbert Robert N. Freeman Jr. of 71 Alberta Drive died Sunday, Jan. 12, 1997. A native of Madison County, Mr. Freeman was a retired steel worker and an employee of the Madison County School System, Seaboard Farms and Mack and Payne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Colbert Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Survivors include his wife, Sarah L. Freeman; a daughter, Elana M. Freeman; two brothers, Buddy H. Freeman and Jimmy Freeman, both of Colbert; five sisters, Jewell Griffeth and Anna Mathis, both of Hull, Lizzie Reed, Colbert, Ora B. Bailey, Athens, and Gwen J. Wright, Decatur; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Pallbearers and flower bearers are requested to assemble at the church at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the Family Unity Center, Freeman Drive. Mack and Payne Funeral Home, Athens, is in charge of arrangements.
