Morris, 78, of 254 Second Ave., died Thursday, March 11, 1999. A native and lifelong resident of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Morris was a daughter of the late Robert C. and Viola Carter and was married to Joe D. Morris, Colbert. She had worked as a nursing assistant at Cobb Nursing Home. She was a member of Colbert United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and participated in the Women's Missionary Union. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Colbert United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Haroldson and Randy Crowe officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Cemetery. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include four daughters, Delores Osborne, Hull, Linda Brown, Winterville, Carol Smith, Ila, and Debbie Drake, Colbert; a son, Joe Donald Morris, Watkinsville; three sisters, Geneva Gunnells, Athens, Eunice Strickland, Colbert, and Reba Patterson, Hull; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mike Osborne, Mark Cronic, Ken Brown, Scott Brown, Chris Brown, Tim Drake Jr., Brian Smith and Rick Morris Jr. Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Madison Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
