A native of Madison County, Mr. Carter was a son of the late Oran Freeman and Marylou Carter Weaver. He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Shannon Carter. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Collier Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Shelly Smith, Comer, and Sabrina Carter, Danielsville; a stepson, Jason Hardeman, Danielsville; a sister, Peggy Franklin, Comer; four brothers, William Weaver, Crawford, Teddy Weaver, Winterville, Mitchell Weaver and Ray Weaver, both of Comer; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be William Weaver, Teddy Weaver, Mitchell Weaver, Ray Weaver, Dennis Weaver and Calvin Weaver. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville.
