Maxwell, 94, of 3812 Hwy. 441 South, died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999. A native of Madison County, Mr. Maxwell was a son of the late James A. and Lou Cora Streetman Maxwell and was preceded in death by a son, James Maxwell. He was retired from Roper Pump and was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Little-Ward Funeral Home, with the Revs. Wayne Douglas, Hilton Purvis, and Carroll Miller. Burial will be in Grey Hill Cemetery. Survivors include: his wife, Bessie Ginn Maxwell; a son, Doyle Maxwell, Atlanta; two sisters, Reba Barrett, Mullins, S.C., and Lelia Byers, Thomasville, N.C.; a brother, Roy Maxwell, Commerce; and three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and four great-great- grandchildren.
