A native of Madison County, Mrs. Pierce was born February 9, 1917. She was a daughter of the late Ott and Lillie Graham Booth. Mrs. Pierce was a homemaker and a member of Glade Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otha Pierce, and a son, Edward Pierce. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 17, in the chapel of Pruitte Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. John Griffin officiating. Burial was in the Collier Baptist Church cemetery. Survivors include four sons, Albert Pierce, Joe W. Pierce, Cecil A. Pierce and Donald Ray Pierce, all of Carlton; one brother, James Booth, Comer; three sisters, Betty McCannon, Geneva Young and Cora Taylor, all of Comer; nine grandchildren and several great- grandchildren. Burroughs Mrs. Millie Mozelle Evans Burroughs, 82, of High Shoals, died Friday, July 16, 1999, at the Family Enrichment Center, High Shoals. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Burroughs was born January 2, 1917. She was a daughter of the late Ozzie Crawford and Jessie Mae House Evans. Mrs. Burroughs was a homemaker and was a member of Bethel M Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Burroughs, two brothers, Debery and Willie Evans, and three sisters, Nobie Dalton, Etha Collins and Blanche Scarborough. Funeral services were held Sunday, July 18, in the chapel of Pruitte Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. Martin T. Coile officiating. Burial was in the Bethel M. Baptist Church cemetery. Mrs. Burroughs' nephews served as pallbearers. Survivors include one son, Allen O. Collins, Danielsville; two sisters, Thelma Fortson, Danielsville, and Laura Booth, Stone Mountain; and two granddaughters. Brown Mrs. Dorothy Jeanette Reno Brown, 50, of Danielsville, died Sunday, July 18, 1999. A native of Guntown, Miss., Mrs. Brown was a daughter of the late Guy C. and Mary Lou Chastain Reno. She had lived in the Danielsville area all of her life and was a member of Bluestone Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Brown, and a grandson, Justin Tyler Brown. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 21, at Bluestone Baptist Church with the Revs. Ray Jenkins and David McDonald officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bruce Anglin, Scott Dills, Scott Filkins, Steve Filkins, Fred Hall, Brad Kirk, Bobby Reno and Shane Rice served as pallbearers. Survivors include two sons, Herbert Anthony Brown, Colbert, and Robert Wayne Brown, Danielsville; three sisters, Mary Ann Rice, Anderson, S.C., Nadine Hunnicutt, Hartwell, and Guynell Fuller, Toccoa; five brothers, Cecil Reno and Dale Reno, both of Hartwell, Guy Reno Jr., Danielsville, and Johnny Reno and Kelly Reno, both of Royston; two grandchildren, Casey Nathaniel Brown and Tiffany Danielle Brown; and many nieces and nephews. Childers Mrs. Gladys Thompson Childers, 77, of Kannapolis, N.C., died Thursday, July 15, 1999, at NorthEast Medical Center following a brief illness. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Childers was born March 7, 1922. She was a daughter of the late Robert and Ira Borroughs Thompson. Mrs. Childers was retired from Cannon Mills and was a member of Landis Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Limuel Herbert Childers, on June 20 of this year. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 17, in the chapel of Lady's Funeral Home, Kannapolis, N.C., with the Rev. Billy Honeycutt officiating. Burial was in Carolina Memorial Park. Mrs. Childers is survived by one daughter, Camilla Childers, Atlanta. Lester Mrs. Marceline Kirk Lester, 59, of Comer, died Sunday, July 18, 1999. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Lester was a daughter of the late David Hadden and Letty Blanche McCurdy Kirk. She had worked in the textile industry and was of the Christian faith. Mrs. Lester was preceded in death by a son, Rickey Lester. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 20, at Vineyards Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Dial officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Presbyterian Church cemetery. David King, Jimmy King, Dennis Kirk, Mike Hunsinger, Danny Hunsinger and Brian Kirk served as pallbearers. Survivors include her husband, Ward Lester; one daughter, Brenda Reynolds, Comer; one son, Dallas Lester, Comer; four sisters, Genevive Phillips, Danielsville, Rachel Hunsinger, Athens, Jeanette King, Hull, and Sue Abercrombie, Danielsville; four brothers, Hoyt Kirk, Athens, and Edwin Kirk, Ronny Kirk and Bobby Kirk, all of Danielsville; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Gee Roy Leon Gee, 67, of Commerce, died Monday, July 19, 1999, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce. A native of Commerce, Mr. Gee was born May 13, 1932. He was a son of the late Riley L. and Bessie Anderson Gee. Mr. Gee worked as a bus driver for Jackson County Schools. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 21, at Morning Star Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Poston and Tommy Seay officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce. Emans Gerald Everett Emans, 66, of Commerce, formerly of Natick, Mass., died Saturday, July 17, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital, Athens. A native of Owosso, Mich., Mr. Emans was born September 4, 1932. He was a son of the late Charles William and Dorothea Lillian Emans. Mr. Emans was a U.S. Navy veteran and was retired from Polaroid Camera Co., with 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothea Emans. Funeral services were held Monday, July 19, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Donald Wilson officiating. Survivors include three sons, Charles Emans, Framingham, Mass., David S. Emans, Campton, N.H., and Gerald Jr. Emans, Demorest; three daughters, JoAnn Anderson, Natick, Mass., Diana Ascheman, Holland, Mich., and MaryLou Kellerson, Commerce; two brothers, Charles Emans, Owosso, Mich., and Walter Emans, Muskegon, Mich.; five sisters, Geraldine Blakesley, Alice Domerese, Kathryn Faber and Betty Truesdell, all of Michigan, and Diana Evans, Arizona; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Little Mrs. Edith Ayers Little, 79, of Morrow, died Monday, July 19, 1999, at Southern Regional Medical Center. A native of Banks County, Mrs. Little was born September 9, 1919. She was a daughter of the late Marion "Bud" and Althea Elizabeth Aaron Ayers. Mrs. Little was a retired auditor with the Georgia Department of Revenue and was a member of Webbs Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 21, at Webbs Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Hill officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Survivors include her husband, W.D. Little; one son, David Little, Comer; two daughters, Linda E. Seymore, Powder Springs, and Susan Washington, Stockbridge; three sisters, Annette Evans, Fayetteville, Jean Hill, Maysville, and Wilbert Landrum, Hapeville; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild.
