Dorine Smith Franklin, 80, of 55 Ivy St. died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000.

A native of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Franklin was a daughter of the 
late Jack Smith and Abelina Slay Smith. She was a retired seamstress 
and was of the Baptist faith.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Berry Funeral Home, Elberton, 
with the Rev. Calvin Coile officiating. Burial will be in the Carlton 
City Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Hilda Huguley, Carlton, and Hazel 
Forrester, Elberton; two sons, Dennis Franklin and Jeff Franklin, 
both of Comer; two sisters, Eloise Almond, Elberton, and Alma Anderson, 
Port Wentworth; two brothers, James Smith and Bud Smith, both of 
Elberton; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the home of Dennis Franklin, Box 412 Watson Mill 
Road, Comer.
