Dixon Mrs. Annie Mae Dixon, 87, of Danielsville, died Saturday, May 13, 2000. A native and longtime resident of Madison County, Mrs. Dixon was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Stephens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Dixon, and two sons, Jimmy Edwards and Henry Edwards. Funeral services were held Monday, May 15, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. John Edwards officiating. Burial was in the Calvary Baptist Church cemetery. Survivors include six daughters, Jerrie Edwards, Danielsville, Ann Strickland, Carolyn Strickland, Barbara Streetman and Mary Sorrow, all of Hull, and Sherry Bramlett, Farmington; one brother, Buster Stephens, Griffin; 18 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Gentry Mrs. Fannie Mag McElreath Strickland Gentry, 94, of Comer, died Thursday, May 11, 2000. Mrs. Gentry was born in Gainesville, a daughter of the late Jim and Ada Greenway McElreath. She was a resident of Madison County for 75 years. Mrs. Gentry was a retired seamstress with Stitchcraft and was a member of Meadow Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Candler Strickland, her second husband, Henry Gentry, and a son, James Richard Strickland. Funeral services were held Friday, May 12, at Meadow Baptist Church with the Revs. Gene Todd and Joe Dooley officiating. Burial was in the Friendship Baptist Church cemetery. Billy Andrews, Terry Scarborough, Danny Lord, Ellis Rhoden, Joe White and Tal Sorrow served as pallbearers. Survivors include two sons, Hoke Randolph Strickland, Comer, and Emory Randolph Strickland, Hull; one sister, Emma Strickland, Colbert; two brothers, John McElreath and Charlie McElreath, both of Danielsville; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Morgan, 52, of Commerce, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000. Mr. Morgan was born November 16, 1947. He was a son of Mary Nell Morgan, Lavonia, and the late Bud Morgan. Mr. Morgan was a farmer and raised cattle. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Janet Evans Morgan; two sons, Jeff Morgan, Miami, Fla., and Tommy Morgan, Commerce; four daughters, Angela McKee, Tallahassee, Fla., Amanda and Melinda Morgan, both of Commerce, and Lisa Morgan, Colbert; one brother, Larry Morgan, Lakeland, Fla.; four sisters, Clara Lou Carol, Alabama, Mary Ann Ogletree, Commerce, and Debra Shook, Lavonia; and 12 grandchildren. Bray, 93, of Crawford, died Saturday, May 13, 2000. A native of Banks County, Mrs. Bray was a daughter of the late Sam and Nezzie Martin Kitchens. She was a retiree of Jefferson Mills and was a member of Crawford Pentecostal Church for 61 years. Mrs. Bray was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Berlin Bray, and five sons, Dorsey Bray, Seneca Bray, James Bray, Norman Bray and Vernon Bray. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 16, at Crawford Pentecostal Church with the Rev. B.G. Miller officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park. Mrs. Bray's grandsons served as pallbearers. House James Junior House, 74, of Danielsville, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at his residence. Mr. House was born August 12, 1925, in Madison County. He was a son of Maude Coile House, Danielsville, and the late Curtis James House. Mr. House was retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Company, Hartwell, and was a member of Bluestone Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at Bluestone Baptist Church with the Revs. Ray Jenkins and David McDonald officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. House's nephews will serve as pallbearers. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Margaret Adams House; one daughter, Karen Melissa Fox, Easley, S.C.; two brothers, Ralph House and Dorris House, both of Danielsville; two sisters, Geneva House and Montine Hammond, both of Danielsville; and two grandchildren, Rachel Fox and Anthony Fox, both of Easley, S.C. Watkins Robert Johnson Watkins, 69, of Nicholson, died Sunday, May 14, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mr. Watkins was born July 1, 1930, in Madison County. He was a son of the late Ferd and Ruby Jarrett Watkins. Mr. Watkins was retired from Barnett Trucking.
