Burial:  East Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors:  wife, Gertrude Mathis; four daughters, Mattie Kelley, 
Cleveland, Ohio, Josie Holloway, Jacksonville, Fla., and Bobby Johnson 
and Betty Scott, both of Hull; a son, Robert L. Mathis, Hull; two 
sisters, Myrtha Sorrells, Hull, and Essie Green, Washington, D.C.; a 
brother, Hubert Mathis, Hull; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 
and Helen Brown, Hull, raised in the home.
