Gordon, 87, of 2530 Macedonia Church Rd., Danielsville, Ga. died Friday, February 23, 2001 at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Ga. Mrs. Gordon was born in Madison County, Ga., January 12, 1914, daughter of the late George Freeman and the late Annie Ginn Freeman. She was a homemaker and farmer and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Her husband was the late James Chester Gordon. Survivors include: sons, Douglas Gordon and Marvin Gordon, both of Danielsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Larry and Frances McGinnis, Danielsville; a brother, G.B. Freeman, Danielsville; sisters, Gladys Rowland, Anderson, SC, Nellie Hitchcock, Commerce, and Callie McClesky, Hartwell; grandchildren, Angie McGinnis and Richard McGinnis, both of Danielsville, Lee Gordon and John Gordon, both of Macon. Preceded in death: Brothers, Lee Freeman, S.B. Freeman, Clinton Freeman and Frank Freeman; a sister, Dot Escoe. Funeral Services for Mrs. Gordon will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2001 at the Chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with Rev. Dayton Logan, Rev. Ray Jenkins, and Rev. Albert Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at the Jones Chapel U.M.C. Cemetery. The body is at the Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, Ga., where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Saturday evening. The family is at the home. Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston is in charge of arrangements.
