Long St. died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001. A native of Hall County, Mr. McElreath was a son of the late James ''Jim'' and Adda Greenway McElreath and was the widower of Thelma Drake McElreath. He was retired from the textile industry, was a farmer and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. Dayton Logan officiating. Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Brooks McElreath; a daughter, Velma Barber, Watkinsville; a stepson, Coy Brooks, Comer; a sister, Emma Strickland, Hull; a brother, Charlie McElreath, Danielsville; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family is at the residence and will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Athens Daily News, Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001
