Adams Comer John T. Adams, 71, of 2615 Paoli St. died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001. A native of Clarke County, Mr. Adams was a son of the late Ola Mell Adams and Oakley Wheless Adams and was the widower of Rebecca Threlkeld Adams. He was preceded in death by a son, Kurt Adams. He was retired from the Athens Postal Service and from the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Hope Presbyterian Church, Paoli, with the Rev. David Strickland officiating. Survivors include a daughter, Joan Price, Cary, N.C.; four sons, Keith Adams, Cary Adams and Gary Adams, all of Comer, and Kent Adams, Colbert; a sister, Celeste Betts, Athens; and five grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of Georgia, 2452 Spring Road, Smyrna, GA 30080. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville.
