Griffeth Mrs. Janette W. Griffeth, 88, of Danielsville, died Sunday, May 13, 2001. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Griffeth was a daughter of the late Jack Andrew and Lynn Dillard Williams. She was the wife of the late J. Dwight Griffeth Sr. Mrs. Griffeth retired from New Way Dry Cleaners and was a member of Moon's Grove Baptist Church, where she was active in the Ladies Overcomers Sunday School Class, the Moon's Grove Super Senior Adult Group and the Moon's Grove Ladies Prayer Circle. She was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma W. McElroy. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at Moon's Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Lee officiating. Born May 15, 1923, in Lavonia, Mrs. Hennequant was a daughter of the late John and Margaret Cowart Mauldin. She was the wife of the late Adolph Hennequant. Mrs. Hennequant was a retired EEG technician with Washington Pennsylvania Hospital and was a member of the Lavonia Church of God. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Hennequant, three sisters, Ruby Segars, Ella Mae Westmoreland and Letha Hudson, and a brother, J.M. Mauldin. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II, and was a retired maintenance supervisor with Westclock. Mr. McClure was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Commerce. Banks Thomas Verner Banks, 79, of Carnesville, died Monday, May 14, 2001, at Cobb Memorial Hospital. Born May 11, 1922, in Stephens County, Mr. Banks was a son of the late William Groves and Ethel Irene Banks. Retired, he had been an employee of Westinghouse Corp. for 20 years. Mr. Banks served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. As a First Class Petty Officer he served on LST crafts. He saw action in Sicily, Italy and the Normandy Invasion, and later the Pacific invasions of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Mr. Banks was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin R. Banks and William "Bill" Banks. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, at Riverside Baptist Church with the Revs. Lee Smith, Truitt Brawner and Clint Harper officiating, along with Charles Honea. Burial was in Franklin Memorial Gardens, North. Mr. Banks is survived by his wife, Evelyn Royston Banks; one daughter, Elaine Banks Honea, Carnesville; two sons, Thomas A.
