Cochran Mrs. Willie Ruth Sizemore Cochran, 75, of Talmo, died Monday, January 15, 2001, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Cochran was born September 26, 1925, in Blount County, Ala. She was a daughter of the late Clifford and Stella Mae Gilbert Sizemore. Mrs. Cochran was retired from McEver Packing Company and was of the Baptist denomination. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elijah Newton Cochran. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 18, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Jeff Langley officiating. Burial will be in the Pond Fork Baptist Church cemetery, Talmo. Mrs. Cochran is survived by one son, Roger Cochran, Talmo; two daughters, Jeanette Bales and Ruthie Watson, both of Talmo; three brothers, Henry Sizemore and Leslie Sizemore, both of Cumming, and Junior Sizemore, Mary Ester, Fla.; four sisters, Pauline Anderson, Flowery Branch, Betty Hamby, Cumming, Jean Mooney, Buford, and Runell Wallace, Alpharetta; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The family was to have received friends from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Ragsdale, infant son of Roy and Misty Bennett Ragsdale, Commerce, died Saturday, January 6, 2001, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Gloria Jean Ragsdale. Graveside services were held at 4 p.m. Monday, January 8, in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce, with Bishop Kyle Baber officiating. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include one sister, Gloria Jean Ragsdale, Commerce; paternal grandfather, William Thomas Ragsdale; maternal grandfather, Jimmy Bennett; and maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Kira and Steve Samples. Mr. Kiley was a son of the late Jesse and Bertha K. Kiley. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and had worked as a manager of a Fina Service Station. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, in Smith Memory Chapel of Smith Funeral Home, Winder, with the Revs. Mike Phillips, Don Leaptrott and Kenneth Brewer officiating. Burial was in Barrow Memorial Gardens. Helmintoller Wheelbarger, 81, of Danielsville, died Tuesday, January 16, 2001. A native of Selma, Va., Mrs. Wheelbarger was a daughter of the late Louis and Gracie Emore Helmintoller. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army, was a homemaker and was a Jehovah's Witness. Mrs. Wheelbarger is survived by her husband, Arnold Q. Wheelbarger; one son, Phillip Arnold Wheelbarger, New Hampshire; and one grandchild. Harris, of Commerce, died Monday, January 15, 2001, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, following an extended illness. Mr. Harris was born April 29, 1938, a son of the late Henry Richard Harris and Elizabeth Towe Harris. He was a truck driver, having worked for D&D Transportation for many years. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 18, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Henry Webb and Johnny Loudermilk officiating. Burial will be in Banks Memorial Gardens, Homer, with military honors. Mr. Harris is survived by his wife, Barbara Cowart Harris, Commerce; one son, Tracy Harris, Hartwell; one brother, James W. Harris, Hartwell; four sisters, Virginia Billings, Starr, S.C., Henrietta O'Dell and Mary Clark, both of Hartwell, and Betty Hulsey, Mt. Airy; and two grandchildren. Mr. Tabor was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Tabor, and a daughter, Shirley Varnum. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 18, at King Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. James Ramey officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include three daughters, Gloria Cochran and Andria Lee Tabor, both of Athens, and Evelyn J. Thomas Mrs. Clela Franklin Thomas, 95, of Comer, died Monday, January 15, 2001. Mrs. Thomas was born April 15, 1905, in Habersham County, a daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Franklin and the late Lou Beth Nix Franklin. She was a homemaker and was of the Methodist denomination. Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Isham Thomas. She was the last member of her immediate family. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, at the Thomas Family Cemetery with the Rev. James Page officiating. Survivors include two sons, Aubrey Thomas and Fred Thomas, both of Comer; seven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and one step-great- granddaughter. Wilson William Odell Wilson, 69, of Commerce, died Monday, January 15, 2001, at the V.A. Medical Center. Mr. Wilson was born July 22, 1931, in Jackson County. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce. Survivors include one son, Johnny Wilson, Commerce; one brother, Russell Wilson, Commerce; two sisters, Virginia Archer, Nicholson, and Jannie Lee Ballenger, Carnesville; one granddaughter, Tonya Wilson, Commerce; and one niece, Betty Collins, Carnesville. Brown Charles Edwin Brown, 69, of Hamilton, Ind., died Friday, January 12, 2001. Born in Toccoa, Mr. Brown was a son of the late Paul J. and Mary Adams Brown. He had been employed with the maintenance department of the Metropolitan schools of Steuben County, Ind., retiring in 1981, and the Gwinnett County schools of Georgia. Mr. Brown also managed the A&W Root Beer Stand, Angola, Ind., from 1966 to 1973, and retired from Walmart, Angola, Ind., in July 2000. He was a member of Plesant Lake Baptist Church, the Angola Masonic Lodge #236, the Angola Moose Lodge, The Nightcrawlers and was a member of the Angola Fire Department for 11 years. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a grandchild, Charles Robert Brown, and a sister, Pauline Dooley. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville. Burial was in Meadow Cemetery. Sailers Mrs. Carrie Lee Shelnutt Sailers, 100, of Orange Park, Fla., died Saturday, January 13, 2001, at Arbors of Orange Park. Mrs. Sailers was born March 2, 1900, in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Will and Lena Holcomb Shelnutt. She was a homemaker and a member of Harmony Christian Church, Commerce. Mrs. Sailers was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Henry Sailers. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 19, at Harmony Christian Church, with Jerry Payne officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Com-merce. Survivors include three sons, Jerry R. Sailers and William Lewis Sailers, both of Orange Park, Fla., and John W. He had lived in the Comer area for the past eight years and was of the Baptist denomination. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, January 15, in Clark Cemetery, Lexington, with John Wesley Edwards officiating. Jeff Williams, Wilson Sojo, John Edwards Jr. and David Brooks served as pallbearers. Mr. Fortner is survived by his wife, Janet Welch Fortner, Comer; one step-daughter, Vara Loggins Sojo, Athens; one sister, Susanne Ferguson, Gainesville; and one brother, Keith Fortner, Ballground.
