A native of Madison County, Mr. Shellnut was a son of the late Willie and Reecie Looney Shellnut. He had lived all of his life in the Colbert area and worked as an electrician assistant in construction. Mr. Shellnut was a member of Community Bible Church, Hull. Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at the Gospel Barn in Danielsville. Mr. Shellnut is survived by his wife, Joyce Shellnut, Colbert; one daughter, M.J. Bridges, Comer; seven grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. Moon John Wiley Moon Jr., 94, of Royston, died Friday, April 13, 2001, at Brown Memorial Convalescent in Royston. Mr. Moon was born December 31, 1906, in Madison County, a son of the late John William and Bessie Ann Scarboro Moon. He was a retired farmer and was a respected member of the Harrison Community. Mr. Moon attended New Bethel Congregational Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Willie Jon Pearson, a brother, Dupree Moon, and a sister, Annie Mae Scarboro. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 15, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. Malcolm Herndon officiating. Entombment was at 10 a.m. Monday, April 16, in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Forest Park. Ronnie Moon, Tony Moon, Steve Moon, Marshall Pulliam, David Pulliam and Scott Pulliam served as pallbearers. Mr. Moon is survived by his wife, Eunice Cheek Moon, Royston; son-in- law, J. Felton Pearson, Morrow; grandson, Gregory Scott Pearson, Stone Mountain; brothers, Haskel Moon and Lee Moon, both of Anderson, S.C.; and sisters, Ruby Vaughn, Lucy Pulliam and Lila Hendrix, all of Royston. Drake Mrs. Nancy Helen Moon Drake, 82, of Colbert, died Monday, April 16, 2001. Born in Elbert County, Mrs. Drake was a daughter of the late Pless Jacob and Ola U. Seymore Moon. She was a homemaker and was a member of Colbert United Methodist Church. Mrs. Drake was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Thomas Drake Sr., and three sons, Guy Thomas Drake Jr., James Clinton Drake and Clarence Walter Drake. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Colbert United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Haralson officiating. Burial was in Kidd Cemetery. David Dunson, Curtis Daniel, Kenneth Daniel, Dennis Daniel, Mark Drake and Michael Drake served as pallbearers. Survivors include one daughter, Thelma Daniel, Colbert; two sons, Henry Drake, Colbert, and Darrell Drake, Madisonville, Ky.; 24 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Vickers Sr., 59, of Hull, died Tuesday, April 10, 2001. Born in Hansonville, Va., Mr. Vickers was a son of the late William Vickers and Lottie Childress Widener. He was employed as a welder for Fowler Products. Mr. Vickers was preceded in death by his wife, Casina Ann Rhymer Vickers, and a daughter, Donna Sue Vickers. Memorial services were held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 13, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Mike Hudman officiating. Survivors include four daughters, Tina Marie Vickers, Winterville, Cheryl Bryant, Colbert, Kristie Vickers and Angel Bowen, both of Hull; two sons, Billy Vickers, Danielsville, and Charles Anthony Vickers, Greensboro; one sister, Louella Robins, Virginia; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Bryant, 71, of Colbert, died Monday, April 16, 2001. A native of Cherokee County, Mrs. Bryant was a daughter of the late Tate B. and Florence Morris Shipman. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist denomination. Mrs. Bryant was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Shipman and Johnny Shipman. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Moons Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Lee officiating. Burial was in Danielsville Memorial Gardens. Members of the American Veterans Association served as pallbearers. Mrs. Bryant is survived by her husband, Clark Bryant; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Thomas McCurley, Colbert, and Annette and Greg Shuler, Fayetteville; daughter, Diane Price, Hull; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Jonelle Bryant, Hull, and Quillian and Robin Bryant, Columbus; four sisters, Stella Stanfield, Calhoun, Julia Bell Brooks, Canton, and Addie Reece and Gladys Raynes, both of Jasper; 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A native of Madison County, Mr. Hitchcock was a son of Inez P. Hitchcock and Willie C. Hitchcock, both of Colbert. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Waggoner Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Webster Turner officiating. Burial was in Hitchcock Cemetery. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include one sister, Bernita Hitchcock, Colbert; and his grandmother, Elease Hitchcock. Long Mrs. Mary Ann Herbert Long, 55, of Commerce, died Monday, April 16, 2001, at her residence. A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Long was born May 21, 1945. She was a daughter of Mae Bell Nunn Herbert, Commerce, and the late Noil Herbert. Mrs. Long was retired from General Times and was a member of Madison Street Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. David Harbin, John Webber and Henry Webb officiating. Burial was in Howington Cemetery, Nicholson. Survivors include one brother, David Herbert, Alpharetta, and a special friend, Richard Melton, Elberton. Hembree Randy Lee Hembree, 43, of Nicholson, died Monday, April 16, 2001, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mr. Hembree was born in Clarke County on September 20, 1957, a son of Tommy Cowart, Winterville, and Betty Jo Hopkins Smith, Nicholson. He was the owner of Hembree Grading Company. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Howard Rhodes officiating. Burial was in the Porterfield Family Cemetery. Mr. Hembree is survived by his wife, Susan Jackson Hembree, Nicholson; one son, Joseph Lee Hembree, Nicholson; one daughter, Kimberly Hembree, Nicholson; two brothers, Marty Hembree and Johnny Smith, both of Nicholson; and a number of half brothers and sisters. Clodfelter Glenn Morris Clodfelter, 82, of Norcross, died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Peachtree Christian Hospice. Mr. Clodfelter was born June 16, 1918, in Toccoa. He was a son of the late Glenn and Annie Garland Clodfelter. Mr. Clodfelter was a retired engineer with Southern Railway and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Toccoa. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce. Burial was in Toccoa Cemetery. Mr. Clodfelter is survived by his wife, Cora Lee "Buddie" Clodfelter, Norcross; one son, Morris Clodfelter, Ft. Meyers Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Terri Kelly, Cumming; one brother, Bob Clodfelter, Albany, Ore.; one sister, Lois Williams, Royston; and six grandchildren.
