Browner Mrs. Catherine B. Browner, 52, of Hull, died Tuesday, October 23, 2001. A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Browner was a daughter of the late Sam and Irene Morris Bush. She was employed with Advantage Behavioral Health Systems and was a member of Melvin Hill C.M.E. Church. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 27, at Bush River Baptist Church with the Rev. Julius Mack officiating. Mrs. Browner is survived by her husband, Truman Browner; one daughter, Terri Browner, Hull; three sisters, Ida H. Gibson, Columbia, S.C., and JoAnn Bush and Avie Sue Shivers, both of Commerce; one brother, Shelton Bush, Jefferson; and an uncle and aunts. Gardenview Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements. --------------------------------------------- The Madison County Journal, November 21, 2001 Wilburn D. Davison Wilburn D. Davison, 93, of Watkinsville, died Wednesday, November 14, 2001. A native of Madison County, Mr. Davison was a son of the late Dillard and Dora King Davison. He was a farmer and was a member of Living Word Baptist Church, Bogart. Mr. Davison was preceded in death by his wife, Birchey Lee Hart Davison, and a son, Ray Davison. Services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday, November 15, at Living Word Baptist Church. Services were also held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 16, at Middle River Baptist Church with the Revs. Paul Jamison and John Swanger officiating. Burial was in the Trinity United Methodist Church cemetery. Mr. Davison's grandsons served as pallbearers. Survivors include two daughters, Katharyn D. Jones, Danielsville, and Mary D. Duvall, Martin; three sons, Talmadge Davison, Warner Robins, Howell Davison, Royston, and Larry Davison, Watkinsville; five sisters, Mamie Pledger and Sadie Christy, both of Crawford, Jessie Coile, Danielsville, and Patsy Hubbard and Shirley Fowler, both of Hull; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Walls Walter Thomas Walls, 75, of Danielsville, died Friday, November 16, 2001, at Saint Mary's Hospital, Athens. Mr. Walls was born in Jackson County on September 17, 1926, a son of the late Early Mose and Anna Lee Tolbert Walls. He retired from American General-Life and Casualty Insurance Company after 20 years of service. Mr. Walls was also a retired U.S. Navy veteran of 22 years, having served in World War II where he received the Victory Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and the Navy Occupation Medal. While serving in the Korean Conflict, he received the United Nations Medal and the Korean Service Medal. Mr. Walls also served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church, the John Jones Masonic Lodge #348 in Danielsville, the Yaarab Temple in Atlanta and the Harrison McCreary V.F.W. Post #4828 in Royston. Mr. Walls was also a Shriner. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lou Walls, and five sisters, Maude Burroughs, Lucille Crenshaw, Frances Coleman, Betty Krason and Evelyn Adkins. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 19, at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church with the Revs. Thomas Elliott and Carroll Miller officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mike Fowler, Rick Hannay, Thomas Walls, Kenneth Hanley, Tony Phillips and Dwight Fortson served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were members of the J.H. Jones Masonic Lodge #348, the Harrison McCreary V.F.W. Post #4828 and the Jones Chapel United Methodist Church's Men's Sunday School Class. Mr. Walls is survived by his wife, Helen Joyce Beard Walls, Danielsville; one daughter, Polly Ann Walls Penson, Danielsville; two sons, Terry Walls and Samuel Wayne Walls, both of Danielsville; two sisters, Mary W. Phelps, Royston, and Eleanor W. Turnbull, Bishop; two brothers, John C. Walls, Baltimore, Md., and James E. Walls, Oakwood; and several nieces and nephews.
