A native of Clarke County, Mr. Strickland was a son of the late Charlie and Grace Davis Strickland. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was employed as a painting contractor with Feimster & Peterson. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Buford Lockman officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include three daughters, Carol Williams and Laura Hansford, both of Hull, and Tracy Aponte, Danielsville; one son, Russell Strickland, Danielsville; one sister, Elizabeth Anglin, Colbert; one brother, Jerry Strickland, Athens; 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A native of Banks County, Mr. Leachman was born August 14, 1915. He was a son of the late Cicero and Ida Minish Leachman. Mr. Leachman was a farmer and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Commerce. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Wilson officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Park, Commerce. Mr. Leachman is survived by his wife, Rose Leachman, Commerce; five daughters, Barbara Black and Mary Dailey, both of Ila, Betty Ledbetter, Winder, and Bernice Wilder and Barbara Morgan, both of Commerce; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Haney Clinton Daniel Haney, 76, of Danielsville, died Thursday, May 17, 2001. Mr. Haney was a Gwinnett County native. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Army, and was a residential heating and air installer. Mr. Haney was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Erma Haney. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 20, in the chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. David Singleton officiating. Iler Sr., 77, of Bishop, died Saturday, May 19, 2001. A native and lifelong resident of Oconee County, Mr. Iler was a son of the late Quincy and Snowbell Colley Iler. He retired from the Athens Coca-Cola Company, with 30 years of service, and was a member of Bishop United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Athens Lodge of the Royal Order of the Moose. Dew George Herbert Dew, 61, died Monday, May 14, 2001, at his residence near Bishop. Mr. Dew was employed at The Georgia Club, near Statham. He was a resident of the Athens area for the last 34 years and had been owner/ operator of three service stations, including a Phillips 66 Station and two Gulf Stations. A native of Dade City, Fla., Mr. Dew served in the U.S. Army, Kodiak Command, Ft. Wainwright, Alaska, from 1963 to 1965, where he met his first wife, Janice Reed, mother of his three children. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joy Dew Russell, Arcadia, Fla. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home.
