A native of Madison County, Mr. Scoggins was a son of the late Lee Dewitt Scoggins and Sara Ann "Annie" Norris Scoggins. He was employed in Clarke County with the Department of Transportation in maintenance. Mr. Scoggins was of the Baptist denomination. He was preceded in death by a son, Don Jeffery Scoggins. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Mark Palmer officiating. Burial was in the Friendship Baptist Church cemetery. Mr. Scoggins' nephews, Neal Scoggins, Jeremiah Scoggins, Jonathan Scoggins, Marvin C. Scoggins, Darrin Scoggins, Darrell Scoggins and Ronnie Smith, served as pallbearers. Babe Jr. Edward William Babe Jr., 70, of Hull, died Wednesday, August 22, 2001. Mr. Babe was born January 14, 1931, a son of the late Edward William Babe Sr. and Helen Moroc Babe. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, retiring from the U.S. Navy in 1976, with 30 years of credited service. Mr. Babe was a member of Hull Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Alan Williams. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 25, at Hull Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. Mrs. Lunsford was born in Oconee County, on June 22, 1930, a daughter of the late Wesley M. and Susie Mae Arthur Pritchett. She was a retired seamstress with Superior Pants Company. He was a retiree of Black Electric Supply Company and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Griffeth was preceded in death by three brothers, James Austin, Walter Trellis and Jesse Ellis Griffeth, and a sister, Wilma G. Ebersole.
